Well I remember charles as the greatest husband and father that Nicole and Austin could ever have. I remember that every family vacation that he would go out and try to surf but it seems like it was always smooth as glass. He still sat out there in the water on the surf board. All of us just laugh at hows things worked out. As soon as he would go up to the cottage, the waves would come in.
He was the one that showed me how to work a PS2. I would play on his whenever I was over at their house either when they lived at Woods Road or in the Condo. I also remember seeing Him and austin playing, even if Austins was not plugged in.
He was also one of the only other person that would take elizabeth and lane
one the rollarcoaster up at Nags Head. And he would also go to Putt-Putt with
me when no-one else would want to go.
He loved Nicole with all of his heart and it glowed brightly when they where
together. I was so happy for my cousin and was proud to call charles my cousin.
I costantly think of him when I am up at school. He was the subject of one of
my english paper, making that the only A in college english that I ever made. I
wish I still had a copy handy right now but all my stuff is backed up.
Another memory popped into my head. I remember going over to see Nicole and
Charles go off to a dance. I cant remember what dance, I was alittle to young to understand dances yet.
Miss ya, and always thinking of you.
G-ma and G-pa |
Memories of G-pa's (two-speed). Because Carles lived life to it"s fullest, he only had two speeds when he was small that being going full blast or sound asleep, thus the nick name from G-pa. Two Speed! He loved catching frogs at our house in Val-p slipping them in his pocket and taking them to his house to put in his meter-reading box. The box was in ground, he would lift top and put the frogs in. One day when meter guy was reading the meter this voice behind him blasted out WHAT YOU DOING IN MY FROG HOUSE? The guy was quite surprised to see the little blond headed boy with the gruff voice protecting his frogs. From G-ma When I worked at adult living home in Niceville the residents always loved to see Charles coming to visit, he visited all of them brighten their day with his quick smile and loving ways. After he left we always had to visit all the hallways and turn off all the ceiling fans, because some small boy could reach the switch.
